What is an SEO specialist?
An SEO specialist helps search engines understand your website and ensures the right people can find your pages. This is achieved through technical setup, helpful content, and reliable signals.
- Google itself describes SEO as helping search engines understand your content and helping people find your site.
- Technical improvements are often visible within weeks; steady growth takes six to twelve months.
- SEO retainers at Websucces Marketing start from € 495 per month.
- No one can guarantee a number 1 ranking; Google itself warns against this.
- You retain ownership of your website, Search Console and tracking data.

According to Google, search engine optimisation boils down to two things: helping search engines understand your content, and helping people find your site through search engines. An SEO specialist translates that into concrete improvements on your website.
Google also states that bringing in a professional can save time and improve visibility, but the wrong approach can cause real harm. A good specialist therefore never promises secret tricks or a guaranteed number 1 spot, but explains their decisions clearly and measures the impact.

What does an SEO specialist do?
An SEO specialist starts by analysing how your website is currently found. They look at search queries, current rankings, indexation, technical setup, content, internal links, and mentions on other websites.
Next comes a prioritised action plan. Technical blockers are resolved, key pages are updated to directly answer the user's query, and the site structure clearly defines which page belongs to which topic. The specialist then uses Google Search Console to track whether impressions, rankings, clicks, and enquiries are improving.
Technical setup, content, and trustworthiness
Technical SEO ensures Google can discover, load, and index your pages. Think of a logical site structure, working links, canonical tags, strong mobile usability, and clean metadata.
Content SEO starts with the user. The page must answer their real question comprehensively, in plain English, with accurate information. First-hand experience, authorship, sources, business details, and relevant citations help both users and search engines evaluate whether the content is trustworthy.
What an SEO specialist cannot guarantee
Nobody can guarantee a number one ranking on Google. Google decides for itself which page best matches a search query at any given moment. Competition, location, freshness, and the quality of other websites all play a role.
Be cautious of anyone promising instant top rankings, huge volumes of backlinks, or a special relationship with Google. Instead, ask what changes they propose, why those changes are needed, and how success will be measured.
When do you need an SEO specialist?
Support makes sense when your website attracts few relevant visitors, key pages are not indexed, you have a site migration or redesign coming up, or your team simply lacks the time for ongoing SEO.
Ideally, bring a specialist in early. For a new website, structure, technical setup, and content can be built properly from the outset. For an existing website, the work starts with a baseline measurement, so you can clearly see what actually changes later on.
How do you choose the right SEO specialist?
Ask for a technical and content-related explanation you can actually understand. Check who is doing the work, what access they need, what will be delivered each month, and ensure you retain full ownership of your website, accounts, and data.
A good working relationship includes clear goals, access to reporting, and agreed processes for making changes. You should always know what is happening on your website; SEO should never be a black box.
SEO and visibility in AI answers
SEO is no longer just about traditional Google results. Clear, well-researched pages can also be cited in Google AI Overviews and by AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity.
That is why I combine SEO with GEO and AEO: making your website technically legible, answering questions directly, and clearly defining who you are, what you offer, and why your information is trustworthy.

Frequently asked questions
How much does an SEO specialist cost?
That depends on the size of your website, your competition, and your goals. Ongoing outsourcing usually requires a monthly budget; at Websucces Marketing, SEO projects start from € 495 per month.
How quickly will you see results from an SEO specialist?
Technical improvements can show results within weeks. Sustainable growth in rankings, visitors, and enquiries typically takes six to twelve months.
Can an SEO specialist guarantee a number 1 ranking?
No. Google explicitly warns against agencies that guarantee top positions. A reputable specialist sets realistic expectations and shows you exactly what is being done and measured.
What is the difference between an SEO specialist and an online marketer?
An SEO specialist focuses on organic visibility. An online marketer may also work on paid advertising, conversion, email, and other channels. My approach combines SEO with GEO, UX, and conversion.
